My working arrangement

published on

Since the age of 16, when I dropped out of college (for boredom), I've been a 'professional programmer' (In that I was paid to program).

So 4-5 years on... What's changed?
Did I manage to start a good career?
Have I had a stable job?

Well... Kinda.

I've worked at a few different start-ups over the last few years. I've worked with enterprises, stock/commodity traders, government organisations, councils.
I've spoken and organised events at tech giants, and community centers.

And I did all of that at a normal, salaried job.

I've just taken the plunge... I've quit my amazing job that I really enjoy, working with people I love. I'm going to try my hand at Consulting (freelancing but with class).

I want control.
Control over my time.
Control over my life.
Control over my work.

I have the same amount of time every day as Marie Curie, Martin Luther King, Albert Einstein. With recent medical advances, I'll probably live longer too.

I'll be damned if I don't make a difference. If I don't improve the world. If I don't make my life worth it.

That's why I quit my great job... To save the world.
